Weight loss injections
From 23 June 2025, NHS England will begin offering the tirzepatide injection (also known by the brand Mounjaro®) as part of its weight-management service . This once-weekly injection helps patients feel fuller for longer by mimicking a natural hormone, reducing appetite and supporting weight loss when combined with diet and exercise . Importantly, patients are advised not to contact their GP practices directly about the jab. Once a local plan is agreed, access to the medication for patients who are eligible will made be available.
